The Purpose of our activities
i. Periodic seminars, conventions, training programs, fundraising and award ceremonies, Festivals and other issues of interest to Film256 members.
ii. Collection, analysis, documentation, dissemination and sharing of information pertinent to the development of the film industry in Uganda.
iii. Conceptualization, design, implementation and evaluation of development initiatives in the film industry.
iv. Coordination of training and other professional development interventions to improve expertise and increase professionalism and career development options in the industry.
v. The use of all media to conduct educational, promotional and information campaigns about various media production.
Focus Areas
Our focus is individuals aged 15- 44, with the sweet spot being 18-35.

The Youth for Film project
The Youth for Film project is a series of practical film training workshops youth are trained in the skills of: Story Writing and Script development, Production and Acting, Directing and Cinematography, Sound, Editing and Graphics, Marketing, Distribution and Film Finance.
The Script To Screen
The Script To Screen project is an intense one week study conference where students from the Makerere University Film Department are trained on the film making process from idea formulation to post production. Facilitators from Film256 are joined by lecturers at the University and an international film specialist to take the students through the different disciplines of filmmaking.

Film256 signed a 5 year Memorandum of Understanding with the University to provide practical training support to the department of Performing Arts and Film
